This is the third level in Rocket Spelling. The words in this level all have a short i sound in them. All of the words in this level either begin with the letter i and then have one consonant (it, if, in) or follow a consonant-vowel-consonant pattern (CVC) with i as the vowel.

In addition to the short i sounds, ten different consonant sounds are each represented in at least one of these words. This gives students an excellent chance to practice individual consonant sounds on this level.
