In the previous level, students practiced long e sounds that were caused by an ee pattern. In this level, we'll examine words that have a long e sound that is caused by an ea pattern.

While ea can also make a short e sound (as in head), these words follow the traditional notion that, "When two vowels go walking, the first one does the talking." That's true for these ten words!
