From the Mailbag: Frequently Asked Questions
Straight from our email inbox, here are some of the answers to the most common questions we have received so far about Rocket Spelling.
1. Does Rocket Spelling work on iPads? Chromebooks? Mobile Devices?
We designed Rocket Spelling with the thought that students would primarily be using either a tablet or a Chromebook/laptop in a classroom setting. With that in mind, yes, Rocket Spelling works on iPads (and other tablet computers) as well as Chromebooks and laptops. On mobile devices, the practice levels are reasonably readable, but the challenge levels might not show up large enough for students to be able to type in their answers very easily. We're working on making the site more mobile-friendly and will consider a Rocket Spelling app if demand for it is strong, so let us know if a Rocket Spelling app is something your students would use.
2. Does Rocket Spelling require Flash?
No.
3. Can I use Rocket Spelling with fewer than 5 students?
Yes. When you sign up, your account defaults to having at least 5 students in it. But you don't have to actually enter 5 students' names after creating your account. Rocket Spelling can used even if you are a parent wanting to try this with just one child.
4. Is the coupon code 'rocketlaunch' available to everyone?
Yes. We want everyone to have the chance to benefit from the fun of Rocket Spelling, so we've made the site free to everyone for the 2017-2018 school year if you use the coupon code 'rocketlaunch' before it expires on September 30th, 2017. Tell your colleagues who could benefit from this site to be sure to get their accounts created before that code expires!
